In my barsearching days in South Korea, I popped into a few Vynil bars, that are bars where the soundtrack is as important as the drinks, and where you can ask for songs to the bartender/dj. Amon these bars, that represent the legacy of a pre-K-pop period where classic rock, pop and soul were very popular in the country, the Muse On is surely among the most beautiful. Born out of an idea of vynil collector Wonsik Kim, the bar was opened in the 90s together with other three simlar spots across the country, each one housing a section of Kim’s massive collection. The bar is large and classy, with plenty of vinyls (more than 10-000 it seems, some of which for sale) and a large screen with music videos from the 80s and 90s, and a few music collectors objects around, including a wall of vintage speakers and other hi-fi equipment, really nice. Staff is very welcoming, drinks are more than decent, food is well crafted and – no need to say – all is acompanied by great music, including teh one requested by customers. Classic Martini rate: 6.
